I hope that if we ever achieve immortality that spacefaring will be common so we can send people to other planets instead of killing them to avoid overpopulation. Anyway, really impatient to see the movie In Time!

Now Movie

Update - The film has been retitled "Now".

Now MovieNow is an upcoming science-fiction movie written and directed by Andrew Niccol (who once brought us Gattaca). The story is set in the near future, a world where one could effectively live forever, but in which time has become currency to avoid overpopulation. 20th Century Fox wants to fasttrack the development of this film, the film is due to start shooting next month. So hopefully, we'll get to see the movie Now end of 2011.

The cast hasn't been officially announced yet, but according to the rumor the film will be starring Amanda Seyfried, Justin Timberlake and Cillian Murphy.

Plot:
"In the not-too-distant future the aging gene has been switched off. To avoid overpopulation, time has become the currency and the way people pay for luxuries and necessities. The rich can live forever, while the rest try to negotiate for their immortality. A poor young man who comes into a fortune of time, though too late to help his mother from dying. He ends up on the run from a corrupt police force known as 'time keepers'."

The premise of the movie kind of reminds Logan's Run... But Andrew Niccol does bring an interesting twist to the concept, with time becoming a currency.

I will follow this project closely, definitely want to know more about it. So stay tuned with us for more information about the movie Now.
